With The Unforgiven II I think that James wanted to capture lightning in a bottle again, but what resulted was never as good as the original in my opinion. With The Unforgiven III, the lyrics and the message of the song were much more intense and less vague than The Unforgevin II, and in my opinion it's an overall much better song.
